R.I.P. Senator Robert Schuler

Sen. Schuler Dies After Long Battle With Cancer:

Ohio State Sen. Robert Schuler (R-Sycamore Township) died Friday night at his home after a battle with cancer. He was in his 60s.

Mr. Schuler, who was term-limited out of his seat at the end of next year, had served in the Ohio Senate since 2003 and in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1993 to 2000.

He was a Sycamore Township trustee from 1988 to 1992 and served on Deer Park Council from 1978 to 1985.

Former Madeira mayor and long-time friend Mary Anne Christie said: “I knew Bob since he served on the Deer Park Council. He was always well liked by everyone.”

In working with him in the House and Senate I always found him to be a gentleman and an effective legisaltor.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Senator Schuler’s family.
