Ted Strickland turns to labor unions to save auto industry in Ohio

That is just what this state needs to turn things around, a political organization:

In an effort to rebound the struggling auto industry, Gov. Ted Strickland Wednesday announced the creation of Ohio Auto Industry Support Council, a new public-private partnership designed to help grow the state’s auto sector.

“Now more than ever, we need a unified, coordinated approach to support and strengthen Ohio’s auto sector,” Strickland said in a statement.

Eric Burkland, president of the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association, and Ken Lortz, director of Ohio’s United Auto Workers Region 2B, were selected as co-chairmen of the council. Dennis L. Wojtanowski, a former state representative and member of Gov. Richard Celeste’s administration, was named as president of the organization.

You know, because the labor unions did such a great job of saving auto industry and the manufacturing sector in general.  Oh, wait …

This is the liberal mind at work folks.  Something in trouble?  Form a committee and stock it full of your political supporters no matter if they are the very people who helped cause the problem in the first place.

The Ohio Manufacturer’s Association is a conservative organization. They provided some support to Strickland during his most recent election, but that marked virtually the first time that’s happened with a Democratic candidate.
