Zach Space insults constituents with vulgar sexual innuendo

Joshua Channey over at Politics Daily has a long article about how Zach Space is defending his position on health care. I think most of this is posturing.  So called Blue Dogs are  trying to lessen the political fallout from having to vote for a massive health care bill – pushed by the left – that will probably be highly unpopular in their districts by the point it passes.

But I did want to point out how Space has picked up the terminology of the angry online left and parroted their insulting terms for citizens concerned about government spending and over-reach:

Before taking questions, Space asked if there were any tea party protestors in the audience. No one answered, but he followed up by saying, “If there are teabaggers in the crowd, just understand I’m not going to allow this forum to be used by you to disrupt my attempt to send a message regarding this health care policy. Perhaps there are none here and if that’s the case, hallelujah.”

Seriously?  An elected Democratic official is using a vulgar sexual term (if you don’t know the history behind the term “teabagger” Google it at your own risk) to mock and insult a group of people who are protesting runaway government spending and over-reach; citizens that looked back to a classic event in the history of the American revolution.

There are two explanations neither of which relfect well on Space:

1) He knows what it means and he is intentionally using such a vulgar term to insult people in his district who have legitimate concerns about the out-of-control spending going on in Washington.  And this is an issue for which Blue Dogs are said to be conservative – the deficit.  I find this very disturbing.

2) He has no clue what the term means but he is instead just parroting the insults of the angry online left and their enablers in the media who get a perverse kick out of the use of such terms and making all kinds of vulgar jokes full of sexual innuendo about people they disagree with politically.

This is equally disturbing because it means that the leftists are controlling the messaging of the Blue Dogs AND that Space is clueless enough to pick up this language without knowing how offensive it is.

As has been widely noted, this whole episode is full of irony.  The liberals who specialize in agitation, propaganda, and protests – their hero president is a community organizer inspired by Saul Alinsky after all – are slandering genuine citizens angry about what their elected officials are doing as extremists mobs.  Groups famous for forming groups and raising money from rich patrons and labor unions are accusing conservatives of astro-turfing. But to add insult to injury they just can’t help but do it with a disgusting sexual slang term.

Is this what Zach Space’s constituents voted for?

Space is using the same technique that the community organizer used. Can’t have a opposing voice in the room. It just got to be “Us”. Sherrod will follow this agenda also.
